Walt Disney World has unveiled it's newest technology which allows guests riding the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to walk away with a video of their 13-story drop. Just like the ride photos it's all driven from the MagicBand and RFID readers in the attraction.
Its all part of the new MyMagic+ system and The Tower of terror is the first attraction to offer the on-ride videos, but it won't be the last. More attractions will be added in the future and plans for the technology are already under way for The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and The Haunted Mansion.
Just like regular ride photos the videos will be automatically uploaded to the guest's My Disney Experience. After the ride the videos will be edited and should be available at My Disney Experience within 24 hours for guest who have a MagicBand and have it linked to a Memory Maker.
The new system will have the ability to create various ‘storylines’ for the guest for occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. The system will automatically generate an album filled with personalized videos and images that were automatically captured throughout the park and linked to the guest via the RFID technology.
The on-ride video is not available to any guests not wearing a MagicBand with a linked Memory Maker account.
