The Norway Pavilion in Epcot will be getting a lot colder soon. Today Walt Disney World officials end weeks of speculation and finally confirmed the gossip about a possible Frozen attraction. The Mouse ended those rumors stating that "We're starting construction on a brand new "Frozen" attraction at the Norway Pavilion at Epcot." This ride will replace Maelstrom the current attraction located in the Norway Pavilion.
The ride will bring Arendelle to life along with all of the characters from the movie. With music and memorable moments from the film recreated in the attraction guested will be immersed in the Frozen world like never before. Also in store for the pavilion is a royal meet and greet location where guest will be able to meet Anna and Elsa.

For many it will be a sad farewell to a long standing attraction at Epcot. Maelstrom has been a staple for many since it opened on July 5, 1988, but with attendance down its no surprise that disney is trying something new for that area. With the world wide success of Frozen it only make sense for Disney to do something to capitalize on the achievement and even though its not completely a real place the Norway Pavilion seems like a perfect fit for the attraction. It will be missed, but in the immortal words of Walt Disney himself, "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
The Frozen make over doesn't end in Epcot though. Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! has been extended and more is on the way for The Magic Kingdom this holiday season too.
In what is sure to be an awesome display Queen Elsa will transform Cinderella's Castle in to an Ice Palace every night starting in November with her frozen magical powers. As if that weren't enough Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf will also being making appearances in “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.” Frozen is a global blockbuster and the the highest-grossing animated film of all time and it doesn't appear that Disney is willing to 'Let it Go' anytime soon.
